What is Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car?

Located in Munnae-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, Myeongnyang Marine Cable Car is Korea's first marine cable car based on a historic battlefield site, connecting Haenam and Jindo. It offers a unique experience of crossing directly above the Uldolmok Sea, the site of the Battle of Myeongnyang, where Admiral Yi Sun-sin defeated 133 enemy ships with just 13 vessels during the Imjin War.

Good to know before your visit

• Service may be suspended on very windy days or during bad weather, so it is best to check operating status on the official website or by phone before your visit.
• In addition to the on-site ticket office, there is also a kiosk for card payments only, and ticket sales may close early on busy days.
• You can board the cable car from both Haenam Station and Jindo Station, and both stations have well-prepared photo zones and rest areas where families can relax together.

• The swirling waters of Uldolmok and the wide open sea seen from the cable car can give your kids both excitement and a sense of wonder.
• In the Crystal Cabin with a transparent floor, you can enjoy the thrilling feeling of floating above the water. However, for younger children or kids who are easily scared, a Standard Cabin is recommended.
