What kind of place is Seoubong?

• Seoubong is a small oreum, or parasitic volcano, with a height of 111 m, located at 169-1 Hamdeok-ri, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
• With its fantastic ocean views from a hill by the sea, walking trails along the beach, and seasonal flowers blooming throughout the year, it is considered one of the representative scenic spots in eastern Jeju.
• It is right next to Hamdeok Beach, making it a great place for a light walk after spending time by the sea.

1. A low oreum that is easy to climb on foot

   • Seoubong has gentle slopes, so it is not too demanding to climb with children.
   • It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the top, and even a slow walk around the trail takes only about 1 hour. If you are visiting with children, focusing on the more open sections is more than enough.

2. Stunning emerald sea and beach views

   • The sea seen from the middle of the oreum or from the beach is clear and beautiful in every season.
   • For water play, Hamdeok Beach is recommended over the beach directly below Seoubong.

   • The walking paths, guide signs, and a pavilion halfway up the hill make the area easy and comfortable to explore.
   • At the entrance, there are a small parking lot and restrooms, so families can visit comfortably. However, using a stroller may be difficult.

• Because this is cultivated land, do not step on or damage flowers outside the designated paths.
• It is best to wear comfortable sneakers, and if you plan to play in the sand at the beach, bringing a change of clothes is a good idea.
• The pavilion near the middle of the hill is a nice place to rest, enjoy the sea view, and have a snack break with your kids.
• The beach is shallow enough for safe water play, but be sure to check any jellyfish warning signs and always keep children under close adult supervision.
