Features and scale of Wando Arboretum

• Wando Arboretum is located at 156 Chopyeong 1-gil, Gunoe-myeon, Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do, and is the only and largest warm-temperate arboretum in Korea.
• With a total area of about 2,049 to 2,050 ha, it is incredibly spacious and home to 3,145 different plant species, making it a living nature learning space.
• Wando Arboretum is in Wando, Jeollanam-do, where the mild southern maritime climate allows evergreen warm-temperate forests to spread across the area throughout all four seasons.
• You will find many evergreen broad-leaved trees here, including Japanese evergreen oak, Japanese chinquapin, yellow lacquer tree, and camellia.

Walking routes and main facilities

• Since the arboretum is so large, recommended walking routes 1 to 3 are provided for easier visits, and you can choose from a simple 1-hour course to longer walking courses.
• Forest Exhibition Hall showcases what the arboretum does, stories about various trees, and the value of forests, so you can learn together with your kids.
• At the Subtropical Greenhouse, you can closely observe tropical and subtropical plants, cacti, and various rare plants that are not easy to see in everyday life.
• At the Aquatic Plant Garden, you can see waterside plants such as water lilies and yellow floating heart, and enjoy beautiful forest and ocean views from observation decks throughout the grounds.

• The various walking trails range from flat paths to uphill sections, so there are many areas where you can walk comfortably with a stroller or young children.
• In every season, you can experience green forests, fresh air, cool valleys, and the sounds of nature firsthand, making it especially relaxing.
• Seasonal forest interpretation programs and hands-on activities give children a chance to learn in a nature-friendly way.

Admission fees and hours

• Admission: Adults 2,000 won, teenagers and military personnel 1,500 won, children 1,000 won
• Regular closed day: The first Monday of every month
• Hours: Usually 09:00 to 18:00, and from November to February 09:00 to 17:00

Visit tips and other information

• As Korea's only warm-temperate arboretum, we recommend აუცილებლად visiting the Subtropical Greenhouse.
• The paid parking lot is rather small. There is a free parking lot at the arboretum entrance. It is 300 m from the main gate.
• The grounds are large, so it is best to allow plenty of time for your visit.
• Near Wando Arboretum, you can also combine your trip with other family destinations such as Wando Tower and the Cheonghae Port filming set.
• This is a no pets allowed area.
• You can also try a wood craft experience.
