About Taehwagang National Garden

Taehwagang National Garden is the second national garden in South Korea, located in Taehwa-dong, Jung-gu, Ulsan. Once heavily damaged by industrialization, the Taehwagang River was restored into an ecological river through the combined efforts of Ulsan residents and local administration, and it was officially designated as a national garden in July 2019. Today, it is one of Ulsan's signature attractions where you can enjoy vast natural scenery and a variety of ecological experiences right in the heart of the city.

What the garden looks like

• This is a large garden spread across the Taehwagang River and its surrounding riverside area, covering about 830,000 m2.
• There are many spaces where you can connect with nature, including walking trails, a bamboo forest, wide lawns, seasonal flower paths, and migratory bird observation areas.
• Each season brings beautiful blooms such as cosmos, chrysanthemums, and pink muhly, along with silver grass and bamboo, making it a lovely place to take photos with your kids.

Main sights and things to enjoy

• Simnidae Bamboo Grove: A bamboo forest created along the Taehwagang River, offering a cool and mysterious atmosphere and a great walking path for families with kids.
• Seasonal Garden: In spring and fall, many kinds of flowers bloom beautifully for you to enjoy.
• Aquatic Garden: You can observe aquatic plants and creatures up close.
• Migratory Bird Park: In winter, you can see flocks of migratory birds such as rooks and egrets, giving your kids an unforgettable nature experience.
• Electric sightseeing cart: Since the garden is large, paid electric sightseeing carts operate by section for children and parents who may get tired. There is also the "Taehwagang National Garden Sightseeing Cart," so if you are visiting with young children or if walking is difficult, it may be worth checking the schedule before using it.
