What makes Juamjeong special

• Juamjeong is a pavilion located at 368 Seojung-ri, Sanbuk-myeon, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and uniquely, it stands on top of a boat-shaped rock. The rock really looks like a boat floating on the water, giving kids a magical impression that feels like a scene from a storybook.
• The pavilion was built in 1944 by the descendants of Chae Ik-ha, a Confucian scholar from the 17th-century Joseon Dynasty, to honor him. His pen name was "Juam."
• With the Geumcheon River in front of it, and facing Gyeongchejeong across the way, it is considered one of the local landmarks.

• Juamjeong is also well known as a photo spot thanks to its beautiful natural scenery and the unique structure of the building set on a rock. The traditional hip-and-gable roof and old-fashioned pavilion atmosphere come together beautifully, making it a lovely place for families to take memorable photos.
• If you visit especially in summer, from June to August, you can enjoy an even brighter atmosphere with lotus flowers and trumpet creeper in bloom. It is a popular spot for photography because the "trumpet creeper and lotus flowers" are so beautiful, and the scenery of the pond, green leaves, and the pavilion on the rock makes for a wonderful experience with your child.
• There is a parking lot near the entrance, and a clean restroom next to it, so families can visit comfortably.

The space at Juamjeong and walks nearby

• The pavilion building is built in a unique structure measuring 3 bays across the front and 1 bay on the side, with only foundation stones placed on the rock. When you go up to the pavilion, you can enjoy the view of the winding Geumcheon River.
• Across the river, you will find Hyeon-ri Village and a spread of large and small mountains, making it a nice place to combine nature experiences with a walk.
• You may also want to visit nearby attractions such as Mungyeongsaejae and Yongchu Valley.

2. The most beautiful time to visit is when the lotus flowers and trumpet creeper are in full bloom during summer, and it is especially recommended for photos.
