The heart of Naju history, brought to life through exhibits and hands-on experiences

Najumok Culture Center and Najumoksa Naea are located at 15 Geumseonggwan-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, and offer families a special experience where you can truly feel Naju's long history and traditions. The two spaces are within walking distance of each other, making them easy to visit with your kids.

Najumok Culture Center - See the thousand-year city of Naju at a glance

• Najumok Culture Center is made up of a variety of themed halls where you can experience Naju's history as a leading local administrative city during the Joseon Dynasty and a thriving magistrate town for over a thousand years.
• In the exhibition hall, you can see various parts of Naju through videos and models, and at the Naju Culture and Tourism Media Wall, you can browse attractions, exhibition halls, experiences, and food by category. With a range of visual materials, children can naturally learn about Naju's history and culture.
• There are also modern interactive facilities that kids can enjoy, including ICT-based augmented reality AR experiences, a virtual tour simulator, and an interactive media wall.
• Be sure to try the 4D Eocha Experience. As you ride the "flying eocha" and watch Naju's history and famous spots with moving effects, it feels even more vivid and immersive.

Najumoksa Naea - Meet the home of a Joseon-era magistrate

• Najumoksa Naea, also called Geumhakhyeon, was the actual living space of a local official called a magistrate who was dispatched during the Joseon Dynasty. This traditional hanok, built in the 19th century, stands out for its U-shaped layout and elegant hipped-and-gabled roof.
• The main building, gate quarters, and spacious yard are also home to a grand hackberry tree that has stood through the years. The tree carries the story of once being split in two by lightning, making it a nice conversation point to share naturally with children.
• Najumoksa Naea is a historic building designated as Jeollanam-do Cultural Heritage Material No. 132.

• It is educational because children can directly see and experience history, culture, and traditional architecture.
• With a range of hands-on exhibits, things to enjoy, and even a hanok stay experience, the whole family can have a good time together.
• Nearby attractions such as Geumseonggwan, Naju Eupseong Fortress, and Naju Gomtang Street are also great to explore together.
• Najumoksa Naea is right next door and can be reached on foot, but the inside is available only to overnight guests, so general visitors can look around only the exterior.
