What Is Chunhyang Theme Park?

Chunhyang Theme Park is a cultural and arts space themed around The Tale of Chunhyang, one of Korea's best-known classic novels. It is located inside Chunhyang Culture and Arts Center at 43 Yangnim-gil, Namwon-si, Jeollabuk-do. Opened in 2004, this special place lets children and families stroll, explore, and enjoy the love story of Chunhyang and Lee Mongryong as if stepping right into it.

Main Areas

Chunhyang Theme Park is largely made up of five themed areas that follow Chunhyang's life and story, so you and your child can enjoy it like a journey through an old tale.

1. Meeting Area
   Here you will find a visitor information center, a floor lighting fountain, a traditional culture experience hall, Chunhyang Yard, and other spaces for cultural activities and relaxation that children can enjoy exploring.

2. Promise Area
   This area has a stone tower, a vow altar, and a wide swing area where you can enjoy the swing experience that Namwon is known for.

3. Love and Farewell Area
   With the actual film set from Chunhyang, Buyongdang, Wolmae's House, and elegant old-style workshops, this area offers a close look at traditional homes and life in the past.

4. Trial Area
   Places such as Oksajeong, which recreates prison life, let children experience the difficult moments from this classic story.

5. Festival Area
   A large rest plaza and designated seating for visitors with disabilities make this a great spot for a family outing as well.

Experiences and Facilities for Families

• The Traditional Culture Experience Hall offers hands-on learning where you can explore places and traditional culture connected to The Tale of Chunhyang, making it educational as well as fun.
• Family-friendly accessibility features such as step-free paths, parking spaces for visitors with disabilities, accessible restrooms, ramps, and handrails are well prepared, so families with young children, strollers, or wheelchairs can visit safely.
• With features like the floor lighting fountain and traditional play experiences, there are many things kids can see, touch, and enjoy themselves.

Visitor Tips

• Outdoor activities may vary depending on the season or weather, so checking the local weather information before your visit is recommended.
• Tourist information boards, a Braille guidebook, and voice guidance are available in the park so all visitors can access information conveniently.
• If you are visiting as a group, you can ask in advance for more detailed information about experience programs and touring guidance.
• Until November 2023, janggu experience sessions are held from Tuesday to Saturday, and you can join from 10:30 to 14:00, with instruction provided directly by a teacher.

• Teenagers, middle and high school students: 2,500 won
• Children, elementary school students: 2,000 won
• Preschool children: Free admission
