• Tapgol Park stands on the former site of Heungboksa Temple from the Goryeo period and Wongaksa Temple from the Joseon period, giving it deep historical meaning.
• Its most notable significance is that it was the birthplace of the March 1st Movement, where the Declaration of Independence was read aloud on March 1, 1919.
• It was designated Historic Site No. 354 in 1991 and is preserved as an important cultural heritage site where you can explore Korea's independence movement and modern history.
