What makes Ganjeolgot special

• Ganjeolgot is a cape on a peninsula located in Daesong-ri, Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, and it is known as one of the places on the Korean mainland where the sun rises first.
• It is said to have been named "Ganjeolgot" because it looked like a bamboo pole when seen from the distant sea.
• Every January 1, the first day of the new year, it becomes crowded with people from all over the country coming to watch the first sunrise. A special point is that the sun rises 1 minute earlier than at Homigot and 5 minutes earlier than at Jeongdongjin.

• Ganjeolgot has wide lawns, walking paths, and dense pine groves, making it great for running around and taking a stroll.
• There are various sculptures and photo zones throughout the area, so it is a nice place to take family keepsake photos.

1. Ganjeolgot Lighthouse
   • We recommend taking photos in front of the white lighthouse, and since it can be very windy, it is a good idea to bring an extra layer.
2. Wish Mailbox
   • Known as the largest mailbox in the world, this is a special place where you can write a wish postcard and put it in yourself, creating a memorable experience.
3. Imagination Park Junk Art
   • Works made by recycling junk materials are displayed here, making it a nice spot for photos and something that can capture your kids' interest.
4. Spacious picnic area
   • You can spread out a mat on the lawn and enjoy a picnic, and light outdoor activities such as kite flying are also great here.
5. Nearby attractions
   • Other places to visit nearby include Jinha Beach, Seosaengpo Japanese Fortress, and Nasa Beacon Mound.

• There are several parking lots, and we recommend parking as close to the sea as possible.
• Facilities are well prepared, including public parking lots, separate restrooms for men and women, and accessible restrooms.
• There are also nearby cafes with great views and places where you can enjoy simple snacks.
• Pets are allowed as well, so it is a nice place for the whole family to visit together.

• If you visit around sunrise time, you can make especially memorable memories, but even during the quieter daytime, you can still fully enjoy the scenery, walks, and things to do.
• It can get somewhat crowded during the New Year sunrise festival period, but on regular days, you can enjoy nature at a more relaxed pace.
