Muju Bandi Star Astronomical Science Museum is a special place located within Bandi Land at 1324 Museol-ro, Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do, where both kids and families can experience stars and space up close. It is designed with a variety of exhibits and hands-on experiences so visitors can learn about topics such as the birth and history of the universe, the solar system, constellations, and the space environment in an easy and fun way.

Layout and things to enjoy

• 1st floor: Exhibits on the birth of the universe, Eastern astronomy, and the future of space, plus an astronomy and space information search system
• 2nd floor: Hands-on exhibits about how telescopes work and the constellations of the four seasons
• 3rd floor: Satellite exhibits, an International Space Station corner, and a 3D theater
• 4th floor: The main observation room offers a full-scale celestial observation experience using a large 800 mm telescope

With a large 13.1 m dome planetarium projector for visitors, you can also observe stars and planets through real telescopes and feel the wonder of the universe. There is also a real-time satellite tracking system, making it an exciting and vivid space experience for kids.

• It is easiest to park in Parking Lot 2 and walk up along the path to the science museum.
• Tickets for the astronomy science museum can be purchased at the science museum, not at the Bandi Land entrance ticket booth.
• When the weather is bad, programs may not operate, so it is best to call ahead before visiting.
• Tickets for the astronomical observation program are first come, first served starting at 1:00 PM, and since it can get crowded, arriving at least 1 hour early is recommended.
• From March to October, the start time for night observation may vary, so please check in advance.
• It does not get boring because there are hands-on activities such as assembling a telescope yourself or watching vivid videos about the birth and death of stars.
• Since detailed explanations about space and constellations are provided, you can still enjoy the visit even without much background knowledge.
• Beyond the observation area, there are many spaces that help deepen your understanding of space, so it is also very educational for kids who are becoming curious about the universe.
• Since the wait can be long, bringing a folding chair or picnic mat can be helpful.
• It is recommended that only 1 family representative waits in line while the kids spend time at the nearby Insect Museum or playground.
• Astronomical observation is open to children ages 5 and up.
• Outside food and drinks are not allowed.
