What kind of place is Woryeonggyo?

Woryeonggyo is a special bridge located at 569 Sangadong, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and it is the longest wooden pedestrian bridge in Korea. It is about 387 m long and 3.6 m wide, and it offers beautiful views blended with the scenery of the Nakdong River. The name of the bridge means "the bridge where the moon shines," and it comes from a place name created by gathering local residents' opinions. Its appearance beautifully combines tradition and modernity.

The touching story behind Woryeonggyo

Woryeonggyo is not just a bridge, but a place filled with a moving love story. It was built to honor the devoted love of Lee Eungtae and his wife, who lived in Andong in the 16th century. It is said that after her husband passed away first, his wife wove mituri, a traditional pair of shoes, with her own hair and left them at his grave. The deep love of this couple is also famous through "The Letter from Won-i's Mother," and this heartfelt story is reflected in the bridge's design.

• It is easy to access by both public transportation, including City Bus 112 from Andong Terminal, and by car.

• Operates every weekend from April to October and may also run on weekdays during the summer season from July to September
