What kind of place is Dalseong Wetland?

Dalseong Wetland is a river wetland covering a vast area of 2 million square meters around 1769 Gura-ri, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu. Located where the Nakdong River and Geumho River meet, it is home to beautiful natural scenery and a diverse ecosystem. In spring, it is colored with yellow canola flowers, in summer with coreopsis, in autumn with silver grass and reeds, and in winter with migratory birds, so you can enjoy different scenery in every season.

• Wide and level ecological trails and walking paths are well maintained, so you can walk or ride a bicycle while observing nature up close.
• Along the way, there are benches and circular plazas, giving children plenty of space to run around or rest for a while.

Ecology education and hands-on experiences at Dalseong Wetland Ecology Learning Center

Inside Dalseong Wetland, you will find the Dalseong Wetland Ecology Learning Center. This space offers a variety of educational programs and interactive content to help visitors easily understand the value and ecology of the wetland. Children can learn by directly observing plants and animals in places such as the Ecology Story Room, the Narrow-mouthed Toad Learning Area, and the observation deck.

Main highlights and natural ecology

• Migratory birds such as black cranes, white-naped cranes, herons, and egrets live here, along with protected animals such as narrow-mouthed toads, leopard cats, and otters, and if you are lucky, you may spot them in person.
• Seasonal wild plants such as reeds, silver grass, floating heart, and coreopsis grow abundantly.
• Fish, aquatic animals, and many other living creatures inhabit the riverside and the wetland interior, and you can experience the ecosystem up close along the observation deck.

• Admission: Free
• Transportation: Subway Line 1, Hwawon Station, Exit 1 -> Dalseong No. 1 Bus -> Get off at Gura 3-ri 1 stop, then walk for about 3 minutes
• Notes: On rainy days or in some parts of the wetland, there may be mud or insects, so comfortable clothes and shoes are recommended. There are stair sections along the way, so a baby carrier is recommended over a stroller.
