What is Damyang Gwanbangjerim?
Damyang Gwanbangjerim is a beautiful forest located near 37 Gaeksa 7-gil, Damyang-eup, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, stretching along the northern embankment of the Damyang Stream. It is a man-made forest created in 1648 during the Joseon Dynasty, when an embankment was built to prevent flood damage and trees were planted on top. It has remained lush and well preserved to this day. With enough historical and ecological value to be designated a Natural Monument in 1991, this forest is an ideal place for families to take a walk and experience nature up close.
