Firefly Ecology Center

This is a special ecology experience space where you can actually observe fireflies in the city. If you visit with your child, you can see fireflies up close instead of only through books or videos, and learn about nature and ecology in an engaging way. It is free to use, so it is also a great stop during a park outing.

Exhibition and experience highlights

• You can learn about the general characteristics of fireflies and the ecology of each species.
• You can observe larvae and habitat models, and browse related books and video materials.
• You can observe adult fireflies from May to August and larvae from September to April, so each season offers a different experience.
• At set times, a program runs for about 1 hour, and it is not held on public holidays.
• Programs operate every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2 PM to 3 PM, and every Thursday from 10 AM to 11 AM.
• If you visit after making a reservation, you can enjoy a fuller experience.

What to check when visiting with your child

• The exhibition itself is well designed for viewing with children.
• Parking is available and reservations are available, which makes it easy to plan your visit.
• There is no nursing room, diaper changing station, stroller rental, or baby chair.
