It was originally built in 1992 as a retention basin to prevent flood damage in the Seongseo Industrial Complex, but over time it has become a well-known spot with beautiful natural scenery and a home for many animals and plants.

• You can park at the Daemyeong Retention Basin parking lot before your visit.
• For parking, you can also use the nearby Dalseong Wetland Multipurpose Plaza parking lot, which operates from 9 AM to 6 PM and is free, and it connects directly to the ecological trail.
• The distance from the parking lot to Daemyeong Retention Basin is a bit long, so it is a good idea to bring a baby carrier. The path is well maintained, but there are stairs along the way, so using a stroller may be difficult.
• Trail operating hours are 9 AM to 5 PM in winter and 9 AM to 6 PM in summer. It is not open at night, so please keep this in mind when planning your visit.
• You can enjoy the silver grass starting from late September.
• The sunset is famous here, so a late afternoon visit is recommended.
• Because it connects with the trail, many visitors also come for barefoot walking or bicycle riding courses.
