What kind of place is Woorisori Library?

Located on the 5th floor of the Jongno 1.2.3.4-ga Community Service Center, 30-gil, Samil-daero, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Woorisori Library is a special space themed around Korean traditional music. Since opening in December 2017, it has offered a wide range of materials, educational activities, and hands-on programs to share the beauty and appeal of Korean traditional music. Unlike a typical library, it has an extensive collection centered on Korean traditional music, including audio sources, CDs, LPs, and books, giving both children and adults a welcoming way to experience traditional culture.

Space layout and features

• Woorisori Library is located on the 5th floor of the community center building.
• On the 5th floor, you will find a reading room and a traditional music listening room where you can freely enjoy Korean traditional music and other kinds of music, along with a comfortable and quiet space for reading.
• In particular, the library offers recordings, instruments, and historical materials related to Korean traditional music, as well as general books in various genres such as philosophy, natural science, and literature, making it enjoyable for the whole family.

Main materials and programs

• You can explore a large collection of Korean traditional music materials, including about 5,000 books, more than 1,000 recordings such as CDs and LPs, and over 7,000 digital audio items.
• You can search for and listen to Korean traditional music audio on a PC, and even check rare recordings yourself.
• Hands-on programs for families of different age groups are regularly offered, including a Korean traditional music arts school, instrument experience classes such as haegeum classes, vacation special lectures, traditional music concerts, and traditional culture classes.
