What kind of place is Arko Art Center?

Arko Art Center is a public art museum located at 3 Dongsung-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul, in the heart of Daehangno. Housed in a red brick building designed in 1979 by Kim Swoo-geun, one of Korea's leading architects, it is loved as one of Daehangno's iconic cultural spaces. Arko Art Center is operated by the Arts Council Korea, and it is a place where experimental attempts in contemporary art and a wide range of artistic discussions come together.

• Unfortunately, there is no parking lot, so public transportation is recommended, such as Hyehwa Station Exit 2 on Subway Line 4 or various bus routes.

Helpful tips for visitors

• This museum is located near Marronnier Park in the Hyehwa Station Daehangno area. The park sometimes hosts a variety of events and has a small playground, so it is nice to visit together.
• The current exhibition [Where Do Wrinkles Pass] runs until March 10, 2024, and you can visit for free without a separate reservation.
• Docent tours are offered every Friday and Saturday at 2 PM and 4 PM, and you can join by making an advance reservation through Naver or by signing up on site. Saturday docent tours are available only for children and accompanying family members.
• On the 2nd floor archive space, you can enjoy free participation activities such as writing postcards.
