What is Seosan Yugibang House?

Seosan Yugibang House is a traditional hanok located at 72-10 Imunan-gil, Unsan-myeon, Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. It was built in the early 1900s during the Japanese colonial period. This house has historical value and a serene atmosphere, and it was designated as Chungcheongnam-do Folklore Cultural Heritage No. 23 in 2005.

What kind of place is it?

• Set against low hills surrounded by a pine forest and facing south, the house gets plenty of warm sunlight.
• Built on a spacious site of about 4,770 square meters, this large traditional house includes the main quarters, men's quarters, and servants' quarters, with each area separated by walls.
• The traditional architectural style has been well preserved, including the buildings and the surrounding earthen walls. The rounded wall that wraps along the sloping hillside is especially impressive.

• In spring, daffodils and cornelian cherry blossoms color the hillside beautifully, making it a perfect spot for family photos.
• There are walking paths, rows of earthenware jars, and various flower gardens around the house, making it ideal for a relaxing walk in nature.

• Parking: A large parking lot is available, but it may be full on weekends, so you may need to park farther away. Visiting early in the day is more comfortable.

Things to keep in mind

• Most of the parking area is unpaved dirt, so on rainy days it can be slippery, and vehicle wheels may get stuck.
• There are many visitors on weekends and during peak flower season, so if you want a quieter visit, it is best to arrive early in the morning. During festival periods, an early morning visit is especially recommended.
• Wear comfortable shoes. Strollers are not recommended, and there are uphill paths and stairs.
• Simple drinks, as well as daffodil-themed cosmetics and potted plants, are sold on-site.
