What kind of place is Yulim Park?

Yulim Park is a well-loved urban nature park located along the Gapcheon Stream, across from the Yuseong District Office in Daejeon. With its wide green spaces, beautiful flowers throughout the four seasons, and a variety of walking paths and rest areas, it is a favorite spot for family outings. Since opening in 2009, it has steadily attracted more visitors not only from Daejeon but also from nearby areas.

1. Beautiful flower paths and forest trails

   • In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossoms and cornelian cherry tree paths, while summer and fall bring lotus flowers, chrysanthemums, and other seasonal blooms.
   • There are various themed walking paths, including a metasequoia road, king cherry blossom path, Chinese fringe tree path, and pine forest trail.

2. Bandoji Pond and the waterwheel

   • You can take a walk around the artificial pond called Bandoji, shaped like the Korean Peninsula, and enjoy lotus flowers, the waterwheel scenery, and a relaxing break at the pavilion by the pond.

3. Various activity and relaxation facilities

   • The wide lawn plaza, central plaza, and outdoor stage make this a great place for outings or picnics.
   • Swings, benches, and picnic tables are set up throughout the park for relaxing breaks.
   • There are also sports facilities, exercise equipment, and a children's playground, so your kids can run and play freely.

4. Cultural and educational space

   • There is a small Literary Village Library where you can rest and read with your child. This library is open from 10 AM to 5 PM and is closed on Mondays and public holidays.

5. Festivals throughout the year

   • Every spring, flower festivals are held, and in fall, cultural events such as the Yuseong Chrysanthemum Exhibition offer fun experiences.

  • It is about an 11-minute walk from Wolpyeong Station on Daejeon Metro Line 1.
  • If you are driving, it is close to Yuseong IC on the Honam Expressway branch line, and parking is available nearby.

• Amenities

  • For parking, you can use the public roadside parking lot next to Yulim Park, or park at the nearby Yuseong District Office and enjoy a short walk over.
  • There are clean restrooms and modern amenities such as wireless charging benches.
  • Amenities that are not available include baby chairs, a nursing room, diaper changing stations, stroller rental, and reservations.

Yulim Park is especially famous for its tulips, and from April to May, colorful tulip blooms fill the park, making it a wonderful place to enjoy flower viewing with your kids.
