What is Namjigaebiri-gil?

• Namjigaebiri-gil is a family-friendly walking trail of about 6.4 km, stretching from Yongsan Village at 160-2 Yongsan-ri, Namji-eup, Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do to Yeongaji Village.
• This trail is a nature path where the beautiful scenery of the Nakdong River meets dramatic cliffs. Parts of the path are narrow and run high along the cliff, so you can walk slowly one at a time and fully enjoy nature.
• It is also a path that still holds traces of everyday life from the past, when villagers used it to go to the Namji market and students used it on their way to school.

1. A thrilling cliffside walking experience
   Namjigaebiri-gil follows a rocky cliff, offering a slightly thrilling but still safe walking experience. Safety features such as railings and stairs are well prepared, so children can walk with peace of mind when accompanied by a guardian.

2. Various observatories and rest areas
   Along the way, you will find Yeongaji Observatory and Changnaru Observatory, as well as many places to take a break, including Wildflower Rest Area, Juknim Rest Area, Ongdalsaem Rest Area, and Yeongaji Rest Area. This makes it easy for kids to rest along the walk.

3. A place for learning about nature
   Children can observe the ecology of the Nakdong River along with various nearby plants and animals, making this a great opportunity for nature learning.

4. History and legends
   This trail is a historic place where General Gwak Jae-u and his righteous army achieved their first victory during the Imjin War. It also preserves traces of the Nakdong River defense line from the Korean War, together with Namji Railroad Bridge, making it a meaningful place to walk and share stories.

• Distance: About 6.4 km, around 2 hours 30 minutes round trip, or more at a relaxed pace with kids
• Main course: Starts from Yongsan-ri Parking Lot at 160-2 Yongsan-ri, Namji-eup, Changnyeong-gun and continues to Yeongaji Parking Lot at 943-2 Sinjeon-ri.
• Facilities: Two restrooms at the start and end points, along with several rest areas and observatories
• Parking: Parking lots are available at both entrances, Yongsan-ri and Yeongaji

• Unavailable facilities: Baby seat, nursing room, diaper changing station, stroller rental, reservations

Tips for Visiting with Your Kids

• Since the path is narrow and follows the cliff, please make sure to hold your child's hand at all times.
• There are stairs, uphill sections, and downhill sections in some parts, so using a stroller may be difficult. It is recommended for children who are old enough to walk.
• There are many rest areas along the trail, so take your time and enjoy the walk without rushing.
• The scenery is beautiful and perfect for photos, so you can make special family memories here.

• The name comes from local words: "gae" means riverside, and "biri" means cliff, so it means "a path along the cliff by the riverside." Its rustic and charming name can also spark fun conversations with your kids.

Helpful Tips for Visitors

• The trail is filled with graceful weeping cherry blossoms that are not easy to see elsewhere, especially near the entrance, so even just walking the beginning of the trail is very beautiful.
• You can park for free at Yongsan-ri Parking Lot, and since the road is blocked off, roadside parking is also possible.
• There is a restroom at the entrance of the trail, which makes visiting more convenient.
• There is a migratory bird observatory, and if you go up, you can enjoy a view of the Nakdong River.
• Bicycles and cars are not allowed on this trail.
• Because the trail is gravel, it is difficult to use a stroller or scooter.
• It is located at the end of the sports park where the canola flower festival is held, so it is nice to visit both together.
• Yeongsan Mannyeon Bridge and Yeongsan Yeongjimut Pond are also good places to visit together.
