Located in Damyang-eup, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, the Korean Bamboo Museum is a special place created to reflect Damyang's identity as one of Korea's representative bamboo-producing regions. It first opened in 1981 to preserve the history and culture of bamboo and to highlight the value of traditional bamboo craftwork, and in 1998 it relocated and expanded to its current site.
