A place where your child can step into the world of English books, Yongdu Children's English Library

Location and features

Located at 133 Muhak-ro, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, Yongdu Children's English Library is the first English-specialized library in Dongdaemun-gu. Opened in 2012 after remodeling the former Yongdu 2-dong office building, this library helps children naturally build their English reading, listening, and speaking skills through English-related books and a variety of English experience programs.

Floor guide and facilities

• 3rd floor toddler reading room

  • This space is for infants, toddlers, and parents, and is stocked with books for young children and beginner-level children's books.
  • There is a storytelling room and a nursing room, along with convenient amenities such as bean bag chairs.
  • A ramp and elevator for wheelchairs and strollers are installed, making it easy to move around.

• 4th floor children's reading room

  • This floor offers children's books at elementary and intermediate to advanced levels, as well as books for parents.
  • You can also watch English DVDs in the multimedia room on the 4th floor.

• 5th floor classroom and office

  • This is where various events are held for children, including cultural programs, movie screenings, and English classes.

Hours and visitor information

• Hours: Daily 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Fridays and public holidays
• Each person may borrow up to 5 books for 14 days, and books must be returned to the same floor where they were borrowed.
• Multimedia materials such as DVDs and magazines can only be used inside the library.
• Please keep quiet inside the library, and eating, drinking, or smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

• Special programs such as English storytelling, English reading clubs, and English reading classes are held regularly.
• During the school term and vacation periods, the library also offers engaging hands-on classes, movie screenings, and craft activities for children.

• Parking is limited, so public transportation is recommended. Parking is available in front of the building, but the space is not large.
