1. A look at the flow of Jeju education through the ages

   • From ancient times to the modern era, the history of education in Jeju is systematically displayed across 4 main exhibition halls, where you will also find a variety of artifacts.
   • Each hall recreates educational settings from different periods through dioramas, miniatures, video displays, and more, helping children understand the changes in Jeju education in an easy and fun way.

2. Hands-on spaces for children

   • There are experience-based exhibits featuring play from traditional educational settings, teaching and learning materials, recreated scenes of old school life, and exhibits where you can listen to traditional Jeju dialects.
   • There is also a small children's library where you can read for a while or take a break.

3. Outdoor exhibition area and Jeju traditional culture experiences

   • Outside the museum, you will find traditional Jeju thatched houses, a variety of everyday tools, and stone artifacts on display, offering a glimpse into Jeju's old way of life.

Exhibition hall guide

1. Exhibition Hall 1

   • Under the theme "The Birth of Jeju Education," this hall displays educational materials and historical artifacts from ancient times through the Japanese colonial period.

2. Exhibition Hall 2

   • Titled "The Growth of Jeju Education," this hall shows changes across the years, including an ideal post-liberation classroom, tent classrooms, and materials related to support from the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency.

3. Exhibition Hall 3

   • "The Spirit of Jeju Education" introduces Jeju children's play culture, various teaching materials, office equipment, lunch boxes, educational records, and Jeju dialects, presented together with dioramas.

4. Exhibition Hall 4

   • "The Changes in Jeju Education" introduces textbooks from different periods, Jeju's own values of loyalty, filial piety, and virtue, scenes from entrance and graduation ceremonies, and distinctive educational culture.

Visiting tips and notes

• Opening hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM, and the museum is closed every Monday and on January 1.
• Last admission is at 5:30 PM.
• The exterior walls are finished with Jeju basalt, giving the building a distinctly local atmosphere.
• If you are driving, the parking lot is shared with the Jeju Dokdo Experience Center, so space may be limited. Public transportation is also worth considering.
• In the second-floor lobby, you can enjoy the "Classroom of Memories," a recreated old classroom, along with various exhibits such as earthenware, everyday tools, school publications, and old currency.
• Around Jeju Education Museum, the Jeju Dokdo Experience Center and various education-related facilities are clustered nearby, making it easy to plan a combined visit.
