Jangsaengpo Whale Sea Tour is Korea's only sightseeing vessel dedicated to whale watching, located at Jangsaengpo Whale Museum, 244 Jangsaengpo Gorae-ro, Nam-gu, Ulsan. It is a special experience space designed for kids and families to look for whales out on the sea and experience Ulsan's unique marine culture.

Main experiences and programs

• Choose from two courses

  1. Whale Watching Course
     For about 3 hours, the ship sails off the coast of Ulsan in search of actual minke whales, dolphins, and more. In the past, pods of thousands of dolphins have been spotted, so there is a good chance of seeing real whales or dolphins.
  2. Coastal Tour Course
     For about 1 hour 30 minutes, you can enjoy views of Ulsan Port and the coastline, and at night, beautiful city lights.

• Onboard performances and commentary
  During the trip, a live band performance, engaging explanations from a guide, and onboard educational programs help spark children's curiosity.

• Real whale observation experience
  The special chance to see whales and dolphins up close on the sea can become an unforgettable memory for your kids.

Fees and reservations

• Whale Watching Course (3 hours)

  • Child older than 36 months to 12 years: 10,000 won
  • Ages 13 and older: 20,000 won
  • Infants under 36 months ride free with a guardian

• Coastal Tour Course (1 hour 30 minutes)

  • Child: 7,000 won
  • Adult: 15,000 won

• Discount eligibility
  Various discount benefits are available for groups of 20 people or more, seniors ages 65 and older, national merit recipients, and people with disabilities.

• How to reserve
  Online reservation is given priority. Tickets may also be sold on site, but only when capacity has not been reached. ID is required, and children and infants need age verification documents such as medical insurance documents or a family relation document.

Tips and important notes

• If you do not get to see whales, compensation such as discounts is offered for the museum, Jangsaengpo Old Village, and the Whale Ecology Experience Center.
• The regular operating season is from April to November, and the ship is closed on Mondays.
• The Whale Watching Course runs from 14:00 to 17:00 from April to November, and from June to August, an additional sailing from 10:00 to 13:00 is scheduled.
• It is a good idea to prepare in advance in case of seasickness.
• It can be quite windy outside on deck, and while blankets are sold, it is recommended that you bring your own. You may also bring food with you, and strollers are allowed on board.
• Adults must bring ID, and children or infants must bring a family relation document. Advance reservation through the website is required, and on-site registration is only available when the minimum number of passengers has not been met.
