Ulsan Marine Museum at a Glance

Located at 1251 Haemaji-ro, Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, Ulsan Marine Museum is Korea's first private museum dedicated to the sea. The museum displays rare and beautiful marine artifacts, including coral, shells, and marine ecology specimens collected from 70 countries over more than 60 years, making it a special place where you and your kids can see and learn about the wonders of the ocean up close.

Main Exhibition Halls and Highlights

• 1st Floor: Marine Ecology Hall and Shell Hall
  In a setting that feels like stepping underwater, you can closely observe more than 1,000 items, including a wide variety of shells and sea creatures such as sharks, turtles, crabs, and starfish. Colorful shells, crustaceans, and marine life that are not easy to see in everyday life help children enjoy learning through direct observation.

• 2nd Floor: Coral Exhibition Hall
  Here you can see about 500 species of rare coral collected from around the world. Along with common coral varieties, the museum also displays coral with distinctive names and shapes, such as a 300-year-old table coral, trumpet coral, and carnation coral. It is a great place to learn about the diverse ecology of coral and its environmental value.

Hands-on Activities and Educational Programs

• Shell Craft Experience
  In the education hall, children can make characters, necklaces, picture frames, and more using shells. Rather than simply viewing exhibits, kids can touch materials and create their own works, building both an understanding of marine life and their creativity.

• Marine and Environmental Education
  A variety of marine environment education programs are available for both children and teenagers. These programs make it easy and fun to learn about marine resources and the importance of protecting the environment, which is why the museum is popular with families.

• Admission: Adults 5,000 won / Youth 4,000 won / Children and seniors 3,000 won
  (Soldiers, national merit recipients, and visitors with disabilities receive a 50% discount with ID)
• Last admission: 16:30
• Hands-on activity: Shell craft experience (5,000 to 10,000 won, check on site)
