What kind of place is Wide Bugs?

Wide Bugs is a specialized insect and reptile breeding and hands-on experience farm located in Hongdong-myeon, Hongseong-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. Inside, you can see, touch, and observe a wide variety of insects and reptiles up close, making it a memorable place for curious kids. It is directly run by a director who majored in entomology, and with fun explanations and well-prepared programs, it is popular not only with families but also as a destination for school field trips.

Main experiences and highlights at Wide Bugs

• Observe more than 30 species of insects and reptiles
  You can closely observe or touch rhinoceros beetles, two-spotted stag beetles, including endangered species, as well as a variety of rare insects and reptiles.
• Special craft activities
  A range of craft programs is available, including making a terrarium and creating a larva observation kit. Experience fees vary depending on the program you reserve.
• Seasonal night collecting program
  In summer, there is also a nighttime program where you can collect nocturnal insects yourself and enjoy barbecue and a campfire.
• Comfortable indoor facilities
  The indoor space is decorated with characters and includes convenient amenities such as air conditioning, a resting area, and free coffee. To keep the space from getting crowded, it operates by 100% reservation only.

  Wide Bugs operates by reservation only, so it may be difficult to enter if you do not book in advance.
• Viewing only is not available
  Simple admission for viewing is not allowed, and you must participate in an experience program such as a craft or making activity.
• Location and accessibility
  It is located about 100 meters from the entrance to Seongdang Village in Geumdang-ri, Hongdong-myeon. Parking is available, and it is not difficult to reach by either public transportation or car.
