Goyang Municipal Hwajeong Children's Library is a welcoming cultural space dedicated to children, open to both kids and families, located at 323 Hwasin-ro, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Since opening on June 27, 2007, it has offered a wide range of books, hands-on experiences, and programs to help children grow their dreams through reading.

Facilities and Space Layout

Hwajeong Children's Library has 1 basement level and 3 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 1,688.7 square meters, offering a pleasant and cozy environment.

1. 1st Floor Treasure Zone, Baby Library, and Story Room

   • A wide variety of books for babies and children are available, including picture books, baby books, English originals, and specially curated titles.
   • There are toddler-sized tables, cozy reading areas, and a bright space where you can read while looking out the window.
   • In the Story Room and the Nabijam space, parents and children can enjoy books and play together.

2. 2nd Floor Book Love, Club Room, and Exhibition Space

   • Books for a range of ages are prepared, including world literature for children, history books, and books for parents.
   • There is also space for displaying children's work and for club activities, making a variety of cultural experiences possible.

3. 3rd Floor Gathering Space and Rest Area

   • This floor is set up as a wide open space where you can freely read books or chat with your family.

4. Basement 1 Storage Room

   • Many of the library's books are stored here, and materials can be requested when needed.

Book and Resource Collection

• Collection Size: About 97,000 books, along with a variety of non-book materials such as electronic resources, serial publications, newspapers, and magazines.

Convenient Services and Variety of Programs

• Self-Service Reserved Book Checkout Machine
  Through the library's self-service reserved book checkout machine, you can reserve the books you want in advance on the website or the Goyang integrated app, then quickly and conveniently borrow up to 2 books for 14 days when you visit the library.

• A variety of reading and cultural programs
  Reading events, library week programs, hands-on reading programs, and local community cultural experiences for toddlers, children, and elementary school students are held regularly.

• Specialized projects and connected services
  A variety of specialized books and programs are operated around the theme of flowers, reflecting Goyang's unique local character. Customized library services for people with disabilities, pregnant women, and families with infants and young children, including delivery-based borrowing, are also supported for better accessibility.
