What kind of place is Gyeonggyojang?

Gyeonggyojang is an important modern and contemporary historical site located inside Kangbuk Samsung Hospital at 29 Saemunan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It was the home where Kim Gu, president of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, returned after liberation in 1945 and stayed until 1949, and it was also used as his office. Gyeonggyojang is not just an old building, but a deeply meaningful place where you can directly feel the major flow of Korea's independence movement and modern history.

• Historical value
  Gyeonggyojang was the last headquarters of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea and the place where Kim Gu worked and lived. It was also where independence activists and national leaders gathered before the establishment of the Republic of Korea government to discuss the future of the country, and it is also the historic site where Kim Gu passed away in 1949.

• Architecture and exhibitions
  This two-story Western-style house was completed in 1938, and the interior has been restored to help visitors understand the history of the Provisional Government after liberation and the life of Kim Gu. With a screening room and exhibition halls, you can vividly experience the atmosphere of the time and its major events with your kids.

• How to visit
  Visitors enter after removing their shoes and changing into slippers. After watching the video, you can tour the basement exhibition hall, then the first floor, and then the second floor. Photography inside is allowed if you do not use flash, but video recording is not allowed.

• Facilities: Reservations are available. Baby chairs, a nursing room, diaper changing stations, stroller rental, and parking are not provided.
• Helpful tip for visitors: It is located right next to the "Kangbuk Samsung Hospital Emergency Center," and since there is no separate "parking lot," you will need to use the paid parking at Kangbuk Samsung Hospital or Seoul Museum of History.
