Wonju Hanji Theme Park is a cultural complex located at 151 Hanjigongwon-gil, Wonju-si, Gangwon State, where you can experience everything about hanji with all five senses. From the origins of hanji and the paper-making process to unique hanji artworks, this is a special place where you can see, touch, and get creative with your child.

1. From the history of traditional hanji to hanji in everyday life

   • On the first floor, you will find the Hanji History Room, which showcases the history and development of hanji. With exhibits and models designed at a child-friendly level, it helps kids easily understand life before paper, the hanji-making process, and the wisdom of people from long ago.

2. Make hanji yourself and enjoy craft activities

   • You can join a variety of hands-on programs with your child, including hanji papermaking, hanji fan making, and hanji doll making. The experience of lifting mulberry fiber with a bamboo screen, adding patterns, and making hanji by hand brings great satisfaction to children. Programs are guided by professional instructors, so even first-time visiting families can join without difficulty.

3. Enjoy hanji art and exhibitions

   • In the special exhibition hall, you can appreciate contemporary artworks made with hanji, a variety of crafts, and dynamic installation art. It is a natural way to discover the beauty and artistic value of hanji as a material.

4. Spacious outdoor areas and places to relax

   • Around the building, there is a plaza, park, and outdoor performance area where families can walk and relax, making it a great place for an outing or stroll after the activities.

• Hours: 9 AM to 6 PM, closed every Monday, January 1, and during Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays
• Admission: Exhibition admission is free. As the difference between the first-floor Hanji History Room and the second-floor special exhibition hall is not clearly defined, please check existing information for detailed fee guidance.
• Convenience facilities: Free parking available. Information on wheelchair rental and similar services needs to be confirmed, and according to existing information, these are not supported.
