What Is Silhak Museum?
Located at Cultural Heritage Management Building, 16 Dasan-ro 747beon-gil, Joan-myeon, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Silhak Museum is a special hands-on history space centered on Silhak, or Practical Learning, an important academic discipline and reform movement of the late Joseon period. Located beside the birthplace of Jeong Yak-yong, a leading Silhak scholar also known as Dasan, the museum offers an at-a-glance look at the origins and development of Silhak, as well as the lives and achievements of Silhak scholars.

- The Formation of Silhak: Learn how Silhak emerged amid social changes in the late Joseon period through easy-to-understand materials.
- The Development of Silhak: Explore the lives, achievements, and major writings of Silhak scholars including Jeong Yak-yong, Park Ji-won, and Hong Dae-yong.
- Silhak and Science: See maps, astronomical observation tools, and scientific inventions left behind by Silhak scholars.
A special exhibition hall and museum shop are available on the first floor, where you can enjoy a variety of special exhibitions and hands-on programs depending on the season.
A variety of artifacts from Silhak scholars are on display, along with digital books, a media wall, and constellation activities that help children learn more easily and enjoyably.
