Parenting Tips for Halla Arboretum
- Halla Arboretum, the nation's first ex situ conservation institution designated by the Ministry of Environment, is an excellent nature learning site where you can observe more than 1,100 species of native Jeju plants and rare endangered plants firsthand.
- With diverse themed areas such as the lush Aquatic Botanical Garden, Bamboo Forest, and Moss Garden, as well as a gentle oreum walking trail, it is a wonderful place for a relaxed walk beneath the dense forest shade.
- The well-designed barrier-free walking trail has no slopes or curbs, making stroller and wheelchair access very convenient. The mostly flat forest paths also make it easy to visit with children who are just starting to walk.
- Near the arboretum entrance, there are convenient facilities including a pleasant cafe and convenience store, so pick up a cold drink or simple snack before starting your walk.
- Every Monday through Friday at 10 AM and 2 PM, a free guided program sharing hidden stories of the forest is available. Visit at the right time to hear informative ecological stories.
- The Natural Ecology Learning Center within the arboretum is an informative free indoor experience space that helps visitors understand Jeju's plants, insects, and forest ecology in an easy and engaging way, making it highly recommended for families with children.
- Inside the Natural Ecology Learning Center, you can enjoy an exciting stamp tour as well as a heartfelt slow mailbox experience, limited to one card per person.
- Within the learning center, there are lockers for storing heavy belongings, along with a clean nursing room and diaper-changing station for babies, so families with young children can visit comfortably.
- Located about 15 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, it is highly accessible and makes a great stop to stretch your legs on the first day of a Jeju trip or as a final destination before catching your flight on the last day.
