Parenting Tips for Somuui Island
- Currently, there is some inconvenience as you need to park nearby and walk about 15 to 20 minutes after parking to reach the destination, but construction of a parking lot right in front of the pedestrian bridge is nearing completion, so access is expected to become much easier soon.
- The toll for Yeongjong Bridge, reduced from 5,500 won to 2,000 won, the gateway to the island, has been significantly lowered, making transportation costs much more affordable for visits.
- There is a small store on the island, but its operating status is uncertain, so if your children need snacks or necessary items, it is recommended that you prepare in advance at a convenience store or supermarket on the mainland before crossing the bridge.
- There are two coastal trail courses that do not connect to each other at opposite ends of the island. Both are modest in height and can be easily climbed to the summit in just 5 minutes, making them not at all difficult for a light hike with young children.
- The beach is not soft sand but consists of rough areas with shells and pebbles, so please have children wear shoes with slightly sturdier soles to protect their feet safely.
- If you are planning to play in the sea, be sure to pack personal hygiene items such as wet wipes, bottled water, and towels in your bag so you can clean up easily before leaving.
