Parenting Tips for Insa Urban Heritage Exhibition Hall
- As Seoul's largest on-site archaeological exhibition hall, this grand historical space spans approximately 1,455 pyeong and preserves and restores actual historical remains excavated in the Insa-dong area in their original locations, without moving them elsewhere.
- Come face-to-face with seven cultural-layer sites containing more than 500 years of history, from the early Joseon period to the Japanese colonial period, and easily see at a glance the dynamic transformations Jongno has undergone.
- You can walk directly over the excavated remains of a 16th-century Joseon-era back alley in Jongno, including old tile-roofed and thatched-house foundations, drainage channels, and communal wells, while an engaging 3D restoration graphics experience adds the vivid feeling of traveling back in time.
- Highly recommended as an educational outing for children, the exhibition hall displays a total of 523 rare scientific artifacts previously seen only in textbooks, including the Sejong-era astronomical clock Ilseongjeongsiui, whose physical remains were first confirmed at the Insa-dong site, as well as early Joseon metal type, a water-clock vessel, and cannons.
- The interior is organically organized into six themed spaces, allowing visitors to move comfortably along the viewing route and naturally experience the brilliant scientific culture and everyday wisdom of past generations.
