Parenting Tips for <Exhibition> Red Brick House, Seodaemun Prison (~ 26/12/31)
- The exhibition is held in Cell Block 10, near the center of Seodaemun Prison History Hall. Check the guide map and head straight there to save your kids’ energy.
- This long-running exhibition continues through December 31, 2026, so we recommend visiting on a weekday or a weekend morning rather than on a crowded national holiday or weekend.
- Rather than describing it simply as a frightening prison, try telling your kids, in a warm and age-appropriate way, the stories of people helping one another inside and outside the prison to protect their country.
- The Message of the Heart activity, where kids can write and hang up their own words of thanks and support for the independence activists, can leave a lasting impression.
- The old cell block building may be chilly inside, so bring a light windbreaker or thin jacket.
- To help children aged 6 and under feel less startled by the maze-like red brick corridors and dim lighting, prepare them before entering with stories about brave independence activists.
- It’s very close to Exit 5 of Dongnimmun Station on Subway Line 3, and parking is limited, so we strongly recommend taking public transportation. You can also make a fuller outing of it by visiting the nearby Dongnimmun Gate and Yeongcheon Market.
