Parenting Tips for Ganghwa Astronomical Science Museum
- The permanent exhibition hall and observatory can be used without a reservation, but the planetarium requires advance reservations because seating is limited.
- For preschoolers and lower elementary school children, daytime visits are recommended for observing sunspots and solar prominences, along with the indoor experience zone. For upper elementary and middle school children, evening observation sessions held 1.5 hours after sunset are recommended.
- At the rooftop observatory, the roof opens and temperatures can drop sharply at night, so bring a windbreaker or light outerwear. To protect the observation environment, wearing light-up shoes is prohibited.
- Astronomical observation may be replaced with an indoor tour depending on weather conditions such as clouds or rain, so visiting on a clear day is recommended.
- In front of the exhibition hall, you can try a rubbing activity of the Cheonsang Yeolcha Bunya Jido star map, and in the first-floor experience zone, learn about everything from the observation techniques of ancestors to modern space science.
- A nursing room and water dispenser on the first floor, as well as a lounge where food can be eaten, are available, making it comfortable to stay with children.
- It is perfect for a day trip combined with northwestern Ganghwa destinations such as Gyodongdo Daeryong Market, the dolmen historic site, and Ganghwa Peace Observatory.
